Rambleside Real Estate LLC is a commercial real estate investment firm with offices in Charlotte, North Carolina. Operating with a broad, opportunistic mandate the Company is active in Acquisitions, Asset Management, Development, Lending, and Special-Situations investments.


Leadership

Gregory Cohen

Chief Executive Officer

Since he founded the firm in 2012, Mr. Cohen has served as CEO of Rambleside Real Estate, directly overseeing all aspects of the business. Since inception, the firm has executed over $500 million of principal commercial real estate debt and equity transactions, including The Brewster (Manhattan, NY – Mixed Use Building), Clarendon Gardens (Brooklyn, NY – Multifamily Apartments), Alden Place (Durham, NC – Multifamily Apartments), and Autumn Park (Charlotte, NC – Multifamily Apartments), among many others.

Immediately prior to founding Rambleside, Mr. Cohen spent approximately 5 years at Cerberus Capital Management, a $30 billion investment manager, where he was involved in a variety of large and complex transactions in real estate, private equity, direct lending, and secondary market distressed debt. Mr. Cohen co-founded Gauntlet, Rambleside’s bridge-lending affiliate, in 2013, and has since originated over $50 million in loans. Mr. Cohen has also developed or is currently developing more than $15 million of single-family homes, as well as oversees an owned portfolio of over 1,000 apartment units in North Carolina.

Mr. Cohen is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with Concentrations in Finance and Management. Before that, he graduated from Brunswick School in Greenwich, CT as Valedictorian.

Matthew Cohen

President

Matthew Cohen is managing partner and co-founder of Rambleside Real Estate Capital LLC, the real estate focused arm of Rambleside Holdings LLC. Mr. Cohen leads the firm’s acquisition, underwriting, and asset management divisions. Mr. Cohen has acquired on Rambleside’s behalf over $200 million of residential real estate, including multi-family properties in New York and North Carolina and has developed properties in Long Island, New York and Greenwich CT.

Additionally, Mr. Cohen has personally supervised, underwrote and funded in excess of $50 million in mortgage loans on 1-4 family homes and mixed use properties in the New York metropolitan area. Prior to his role at Rambleside, Mr. Cohen owned, managed and disposed of The Brewster, an iconic apartment building on Manhattan’s Upper West side.

He received his Master’s Degree from New York University with a Concentration in Real Estate Finance and Investments. Mr. Cohen is a graduate of Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

 

Charles Brodsky

Chief Operating Officer / Director of Asset Management

Charles Brodsky joined Rambleside in 2015 as its Chief Operating Officer and Director of Acquisitions and Asset Management. Mr. Brodsky leads Rambleside’s efforts in identifying opportunities to create value by acquiring and repositioning commercial properties. With a focus on driving both operating efficiencies and revenue, Mr. Brodsky oversees Rambleside’s entire multi-family business, encompassing over 1,000 units across numerous communities. Since joining Rambleside, Mr. Brodsky has completed major value-add capital projects, including the multi-million dollar renovation of Alden Place. Mr. Brodsky has been involved in a variety of property and capital markets transactions throughout the country while leading Rambleside’s acquisitions activities.

Prior to Rambleside, Mr. Brodsky was with COR Clearing LLC, where he worked in the Business Development Department focusing on new client acquisitions, capital infusion projects and relationship management. Mr. Brodsky is a graduate of Davidson College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
